Back to school shopping is a huge expense that can be reduced through judicious planning and budgeting. Not everything needs to be brand new or even bought all at once.

I’m not talking about timing the stock market to buy and sell shares. I’m talking about timing the retail market before making any purchases.

I’m not exactly a technophobe but I fail to be impressed by all the useless gadgets available on the store shelves these days.

If the price difference is only a few cents I tend to buy name brands, but for the most part I don’t find much difference in generic and store brands.

It always amazes me when I see a TV program like Extreme Couponing that shows someone buying hundreds of dollars in groceries and ends up paying less than $10.

I love shopping at Costco for one reason. The quality of their products are superior to any other grocery store. Period.

I used to love going shopping but now I hate it. Too many choices just complicate things.

After giving it a lot of thought, these are a few of the best items that I have bought (in no particular order) and I wouldn’t do without them:
